I haven't been able to figure out how to put a video on my blog (actually, I just haven't had time to sit down and figure it out), so I decided to take some pictures of Hannah this morning in order to show, those of you who are interested, a play by play of what she can do at 11 months. So she usually starts out in the sitting position, and then she makes it down on all fours and once she gets there, she just kind of scoots around. She then decides that she is done with that and that she wants to get back up into the sitting position, so she puts both of her legs out to the side and is pretty much doing the splits and then she slowly pushes her upper body up until she is back to sitting. She is definitely quite the flexible little girl and I just get a kick out of watching her do all of that. Even though she may be a little behind with the crawling thing, I know that she is so close to figuring it out and before I know it, I will be chasing her around everywhere, along with the other two. It's a lot of work, but at least it helps keep me in shape! :)Posted by David and Rachel at 5:11 PM 4 comments

Today was my precious Leah's 1st day of Kindergarten and I just cannot believe that I have a child in elementary school now. Let me just tell you that she is so happy that school has finally begun and when I went into her room this morning she was jumping up and down on her bed saying: "I get to go to kindergarten today!" Another thing that she said to me this morning after I had gotten her ready and had not done much with myself yet was: "Mommy, are you going to my school like that, because you don't look so good, but I think that I look good." You gotta love the honesty that you get from your kids. I was able to take her to school this morning and believe it or not, I did not cry. Part of me feels like I am a bad mom because I didn't get emotional about my first child entering the elementary school world, but I think I was ok with it all because Leah was so excited to be there and she was not one bit afraid when I left. Overall, today went quite well and I am looking forward to Noah starting preschool after Labor Day and having 2 1/2 hours of alone time (well, Hannah will be around of course, but she usually naps during that time) and maybe I can get some things done that I have been meaning to get done for a while. We will see!!Posted by David and Rachel at 1:58 PM 4 comments

Our summer would not have been complete without another trip to Mimi and Papa's house and getting some pool time in before it closes for the winter. We sure had a great time and my kids and were able to spend a lot of time with Auntie Allie. They absolutely adore her and I have to say that I adore her as well. I still cannot believe that she will soon be a mother herself, but I am so excited for and so very proud of her. She is going to be a wonderful mother and I just look forward to more phone calls from her once the baby is here. You're the best Allie!! Posted by David and Rachel at 1:31 PM 3 comments
